AMCG selected for the Materials and Components Technology Development Project led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy... Signed a project agreement worth 3.55 billion won ︳AMCG is actively pursuing the commercialization of quantum sensors using SQUID-based cardiac diagnostic technology. ︳With 2.5 billion won in government funding, AMCG aims to mass-produce superconducting quantum interference devices. AMCG announced on the 22nd that it has been selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's ‘Materials and Components Technology Development Project(Cross-Technology Convergence Project)’ for 2025, securing government support totaling 3.55 billion won. AMCG was selected for this project with the theme ‘Development of Materials, Components, and Shielding Technology for Ultra-Fine Bio-Magnetic Signal Measurement Equipment’. This project, spanning 2 years and 6 months, will be carried out with 2.5 billion won in government funding out of the total project cost of 3.55 billion won. The Material Component Technology Development Cross-Technology Convergence Project identifies companies with strong technological capabilities to support securing material and component technologies and enhancing competitiveness. This aims to reduce overseas dependency on materials and components, advance technological sophistication, and secure future markets. Notably, the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), an accredited testing and certification body under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, participated as the reliability evaluation agency, enhancing the credibility of the technology verification. AMCG will achieve mass production of SQUID(superconducting quantum interference devices) through this project and will pursue the optimization of magnetic shielding room (MSR), known as a constraint for superconducting-based magnetic sensors. SQUID is an ultra-precise sensor capable of measuring extremely minute magnetic fields, detecting even the faintest magnetic signals generated by the human heart at levels as low as 10⁻¹¹ Tesla. AMCG's MCG (Magnetic Cardio-Graph) system is an innovative medical device that utilizes this SQUID technology to accurately diagnose heart disease without the need for contrast agents or radiation. The achievements of this project are expected to extend beyond the field of ultra-fine biomagnetic signal measurement, finding applications in diverse sectors such as semiconductors and defense industries. Particularly, the commercialization of quantum sensor technology is anticipated to significantly contribute to the development of Korea's quantum technology ecosystem. Seo Yong-seong, CEO of AMCG, stated, “Through this support project, we plan to secure core technologies for biomagnetic signal measurement systems.” He added, “Startups based on next-generation quantum sensors and AI technology will gain global competitiveness in the component, material, and equipment sector and introduce innovative products in the field of medical devices for diagnosing heart disease.” [Financial News Reporter Jung Myung-jin] |
